Description

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a growing Lumber and Building Materials company, is seeking an experienced Yard Associate. Under direct supervision, the qualified candidate will perform a variety of yard activities including, operating a forklift to move product and material throughout the yard and providing customer service to Tibbetts Lumber customers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in the location and loading of product
  • Review materials loaded against invoice or requisition; complete and route paperwork appropriately
  • Move product/material throughout the yard ensuring placement in correct areas
  • Ensure product/material is well stocked of inventory at all times
  • Perform routine clean-up of yard
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices 
  • Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers at all times
  • All other duties as assigned

Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) 
  • Clean and valid Drivers License.
  • Six (6) months of experience with performing these or similar tasks; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
  • OSHA Forklift Certification (training is provided) and experience building frame packs

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of various types of lumber
  • Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
  • Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of company products/inventory available at work location
  • Ability to read and understand invoices and requisitions
