Field Professional - Construction Materials Testing

Our team of professionals work closely with contractors, architects, and engineers to support quality and compliance across a wide range of projects. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Professional to join our team in Boise, Idaho.

About the Role

A field professional performs field testing, observations, and inspections of construction materials—including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel—in accordance with applicable standards and STRATA’s Quality Management System Manual (QMSM). This role supports project success through accurate testing, timely reporting, and strong communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform observation and materials testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt
  • Conduct testing in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
  • Assist senior professionals with complex tasks
  • Maintain and calibrate field and laboratory equipment
  • Report results promptly and accurately
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members
  • Operate company vehicles responsibly and maintain their condition
  • Travel out of town and work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

Experience and certifications for this position ideally include over 1 year of experience in construction materials testing and two or more of the following certifications:

  • Soil and asphalt in-place density training (such as APNGA certifications);
  • Concrete testing (ACI certifications);
  • Sampling and testing SRDTT, aggregate, embankment, and asphalt (WAQTC certifications).
