Join our welcoming dog grooming salon as a Front Desk Receptionist, where you'll be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved companions. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, pet-friendly environment while providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. This is a temporary position for 3-4 weeks.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and their pets warmly upon arrival and departure
• Schedule grooming appointments using salon management software
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries about services and pricing
• Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately
• Maintain detailed customer records and pet information in the database
• Coordinate with groomers to manage appointment flow and wait times
• Assist with pet check-in and check-out procedures( such as if a dog is matted, helping clients with the desired haircut they want for their pup)
• Handle customer concerns and complaints with professionalism and empathy
• Maintaining Cleanliness of the shop with light vacuuming, dusting and wiping down front desk area

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Comfortable working around dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math skills for handling payments and transactions
• Ability to remain calm in busy or stressful situations
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pet care, veterinary, or grooming industry
• Knowledge of dog breeds and basic pet care
• Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish preferred)
• Previous experience with appointment scheduling systems
• Basic understanding of pet grooming services and pricing

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with computer systems and point-of-sale software
• Ability to learn salon management software quickly
• Basic phone system operation
• Cash handling and credit card processing
• Email and basic office software skills
• Multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
