Job Description

We are looking for a student who is wanting to get some great experience in an interesting, fast-paced medical environment. Join the Southern California Reproductive Center (SCRC) team in providing our patients with support and compassion on this difficult journey.

In this role, you will:

  • Scribe for and assist providers during procedure-based office encounters
  • Prepare and assist with intrauterine insemination (IUI), endometrial biopsies, saline sonograms, etc.
  • Document and take the patient’s vital signs
  • Provide and maintain an efficient flow of patients
  • Log all outgoing and incoming laboratory results
  • Clean and maintain instruments and equipment
  • Prepare rooms for patients
  • Triage patient inquiries and return appropriate calls per the provider's instructions
  • Assist in maintaining medical records
  • Prepare charts
  • Obtain laboratory results
  • Adhere to Operating Room Sanitation Policy and Procedure
  • Assist with providing care for patients during procedures
  • Communicates ongoing patient care needs with nursing staff and/or physician
  • Operates specialty equipment per manufacturer’s recommendations and/or policy and procedure
  • Help make reminder calls and collect payment for visits
  • Responsible for determining that appropriate paperwork has been received for patient treatment
  • Answer patient calls to clinical phone lines

You will be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Previous clinical experience (voluntary or paid) a plus
  • Completion of the MCAT is a plus
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to move with pace and purpose
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively with physicians and nursing staff to provide patient care
  • Ability to follow through accurately
  • Previous customer service experience a plus
  • Ability to empathize with patients in person and over the phone
