Position Summary

Green Lake Nursery is seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Customer Service & Inside Sales team member to join our team. This role is central to delivering an exceptional customer experience by managing customer pickups, order entry, web orders, and sales communication.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys direct customer interaction, and has strong attention to detail when coordinating orders and maintaining product quality.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Pickup Coordination

• Greet customers and provide professional, direct customer support

• Organize and prioritize pickup schedules

• Review pickup times and arrange orders accordingly

• Contact customers to confirm ETAs when needed

• Coordinate with the Picking team to ensure orders are ready on time

• Inspect product quality prior to customer arrival to ensure expectations are met

• Handle cash and payment transactions accurately

Inside Sales & Communication

• Answer incoming sales calls in a professional and timely manner

• Monitor and manage Sales email inbox; direct inquiries appropriately

• Maintain accurate customer records in company software systems

• Exercise sound judgment when handling sales inquiries

• Take photos and prepare/send customer quotes

• Notify customers regarding truck delivery timing

• Meet seasonal sales windows and deadlines

Inventory, Marketing & Growth Support

• Assist in maintaining plant inventory and overall product quality

• Build relationships with existing and prospective customers

• Identify opportunities to improve service and expand market reach

• Assist with product planning and stay current on industry trends

• Support weekly marketing efforts including photography and preparing “What Looks Good” communications in Mailchimp

• Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline sales and business operations

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced seasonal environment

• Customer-first mindset with strong attention to detail

• Comfortable handling payments and administrative responsibilities

• Proficiency in email and basic software systems (CRM/SBI experience preferred)

• Interest in horticulture or nursery industry preferred but not required
