Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Drop/Count Team has overall responsibility for the prompt and accurate count of currency and other items placed in the casino drop boxes. Under general direction from the Drop/Count Team Supervisor and/or Drop/Count Team Lead, safeguards the assets of the casino by removing, audit tickets, exchanging, collecting, and accurately counting cash boxes from slot machines, table games, and kiosks in accordance with established policies, procedures, and gaming regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Distribute replacement bill stackers and drop boxes throughout casino.
  2. Reset slot unit, secure lock, and arranges for the replacement of paper and repairs.
  3. Retrieve bill stackers from slot machines and place on collection cart.
  4. Retrieve drop boxes from table games and place on collection cart.
  5. Insert bill stackers and drop boxes into tables and machines.
  6. Reports and document all unusual occurrences related to the drop.
  7. Conduct audit of slots and retrieves all related documents.
  8. Remove Bill Acceptors Canister from slot units and safely drops into slot drop cart.
  9. Verify contents of drop boxes and bill stackers.
  10. Prepare paperwork for audit and enter/transfer all information into the computer system.
  11. Deliver collection cart to count room at the conclusion of the drop.
  12. Establish a safe perimeter around the drop area and identify this perimeter with use of chairs, stanchions, signage, etc.
  13. Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and the ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
  14. Complies with count room security and surveillance protocols, Federal/State and Tribal Internal Control Standards.
  15. All other duties assigned. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED is required. 
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate a 10-key calculator.
  • Ability to perform data entry.
  • Must be able to handle large amounts of money accurately, honestly, and in a professional manner. 
  • Possess ability to write neatly and accurately.
  • Ability and willingness to attend additional training when required.

Other Requirements:

  • Effectively communicate problems, concerns, and maintain positive relationships with Casino Security, and Tribal Personnel.
  • Flexible and willing to work varying shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Paiute Gaming License. Must pass an extensive background check. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, the Team Member must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. 

  • Required use repetitive movements to complete tasks.
  • May be required to climb or balance, stoop, bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to stand and walk 100% of shift. 
  • Team Member may be occasionally required to work in low light conditions and may be exposed to loud noise for extended periods.
  • Required to work in confined, small areas for periods of time. 
  • Must lift up to 25 pounds and/or push, pull up to 50 pounds.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of the Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Noise levels are moderate to loud. Climate is subject to change from hot to cold.
