Behavioral Health Rep - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday (7:30AM-7PM) | Varies

As a Behavioral Health Representative I Float, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our on-site Behavioral Health providers and helping patients receive the care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange language line interpretation services to ensure effective communication.
  • Sort or dispense mail and faxes efficiently.
  • Assist new patients with the registration process, including sending VSC and follow-up.
  • Manage EHR and continuity of care lists to optimize patient access.
  • Maintain and manage waitlists for all Behavioral Health Services.
  • Process and follow up on Behavioral Health internal service orders.
  • Obtain vital signs on patients and enter them into EHRS promptly.
  • Attend required all-staff meetings and participate in team discussions.
  • Complete reminder calls to all unconfirmed patients for better appointment adherence.
  • Process psychological testing prior authorizations efficiently.
  • Answer phones and retrieve voicemail messages, ensuring timely responses.
  • Provide data entry and administrative support to the team.
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications as needed.
  • Assist with triaging behavioral health emergencies with care and urgency.
  • Handle blood draws, injections, EKGs, and drug screens with professionalism.
  • Process lab service orders in EMR accurately.
  • Provide clinic/site coverage and travel for coverage as needed, showing flexibility.
  • Promote effective working relations and work as part of a cohesive team.
  • Attend required safety training programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in compliance with Legacy standards.
  • Demonstrate proper body mechanics in all functions to prevent injuries.
  • Assure a safe environment by instituting appropriate control measures.
  • Attend annual education programs to stay updated on best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • BLS (CPR & AED) Certified required.
  • Three to six months of related experience preferred.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Familiarity with BH preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Good direct and telephone communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team setting.
  • Leadership ability for program management and growth.
  • Communication/interpersonal skills to interact with various backgrounds.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
