Highlights:
Summary: The resident will be under the supervision of the residency program coordinator and the appropriate preceptor(s) for each rotational learning experience. Within the scope of their training the resident will be responsible for conducting clinical pharmacy services and ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal clinical services on a daily basis. They will work and train in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost-effective drug therapies. The resident will also be responsible for medication order verification, preparation and distribution for patients. The resident helps ensure the appropriate prescription and administration of medications to patients within the institution. The residents training will be conducted and evaluated in accordance with the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists accreditation standards for postgraduate year one pharmacy residency programs. Education / Experience:Graduate of an ACPE(Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education) accredited school/college of pharmacy. Must apply through Phorcas and eligible by participating in the National Matching Services, Inc./ASHP (American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists) Resident Matching Program. License / Certification: Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Alabama upon graduation and must be licensed no later than August 15th of the residency term and maintain licensure for the duration of the residency term. Must acquire and maintain controlled substance certificate valid in the state of Alabama (obtained upon licensure) for the duration of the residency term.
