Job Description

General Purpose of Job:  

Support the Medical / GYN / Radiation Oncology Physicians, APP's, and Radiation Therapists in Patient Care.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis.  Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

  • Under the direction of an RN, assists with the assessment of the patient's condition, and assists with the needs of the patient’s receiving infusions. .
  • Collects pertinent data and communicates significant information and changes in patient condition to the RN.
  • Performs office support duties as necessary, including answering phone lines and filing.
  • Assists the Physician or PA with Medical / GYN Oncology procedures.
  • Constructively addresses patient and team issues to insure quality patient care and a collaborative work environment.
  • Assumes responsibility for on-going education and completion of mandatory requirements.

Job Requirements

General Requirements Certified or Registered Medical Assistant - preferred. Work Experience Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the outpatient clinic setting Minimum of twelve months experience in a health care setting desired preferred Education High school diploma, GED or successful completion of 12 grades combined with continued enrollment in early college program Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Demonstrates basic computer skills and medical terminology knowledge. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned area. Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
