Your Recipe for Impact — What You’ll Do

As a Treasury Specialist, you help keep Whataburger’s financial operations running smoothly by ensuring daily transactions are accurate, timely, and well‑controlled. Your work supports the integrity of sales activity and cash flow, helping leaders trust the numbers behind the business. You make a difference by identifying discrepancies, resolving issues, and maintaining reliable reconciliations. You serve with heart by working diligently and collaboratively to support internal partners and ensure issues are handled with care and accountability. You win as one by partnering with cross‑functional teams to resolve variances and improve processes. And you move forward boldly by strengthening reconciliation practices, improving documentation, and continuously building your financial and problem‑solving skills.

Day-to-Day Ingredients — Responsibilities

As a Treasury Specialist, you will:

• Process and reconcile financial transactions across multiple systems
• Research and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliations
• Generate and review treasury and reconciliation reports
• Monitor sales activity and flag irregularities
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues and variances
• Track and follow up on tickets and outstanding items
• Support month‑end reconciliations and general ledger activities
• Maintain accurate documentation of reconciliation work and findings

What You Bring to the Table — Required Experience

As a Treasury Specialist, you must have: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Basic knowledge of financial or treasury reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Proficiency in Excel and basic reporting tools
• Ability to research issues and apply problem‑solving skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities

Extra Toppings — Desired Experience

As a Treasury Specialist, we prefer you to have: 

• Experience working with sales, cash, or banking data
• Exposure to ticketing or issue‑tracking systems
• Prior experience supporting month‑end close activities
• Interest in growing within treasury, accounting, or finance functions

Where & How You’ll Work

This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you’ll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast‑paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full‑time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
