Job Summary

This positions is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the tool program. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Takes tool orders via email, phone, or verbal. Clarifies list, when needed, assures tools sent to site are what the foremen ordered.
  • Pulls tools from the tool cage and assembles order for delivery per the schedule date and time committed by the Operations Manager. Procures any tools not in stock using the Tool Manager for approval and support.
  • Receives tool return tickets from the field. Once tools have been picked up and returned, processes back into the tool cage. Confirms the operational status of each tool making sure it is complete and functional, cleaned and wiped down before returning to shelves.
  • Assembles new tools and processes into tool cage inventory.
  • Aids in loading/unloading of tools on/off warehouse vehicles.
  • Other duties, as qualified to perform, as assigned by the Tool Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. 
  • Working knowledge and identification of the common tools and equipment used in the piping, plumbing, sheet metal, HVAC service, millwright and electrical construction industry. 
  • A minimum of 2 years of warehouse related experience is preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Must be able to physically lift and move tools and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Must work well with others and be a team player.
  • Good customer service.
  • Must communicate well.
  • Must be prompt and courteous.
  • Must be organized and efficient.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
