Experience with mechanical tools and reading engineering drawings is preferred.

Job Description

Starting Wage: $17.00 per hour

No Shift Work: First shift hours only

Standard Schedule: Monday-Friday with overtime as needed. Schedule can vary per department.

Job Summary

This factory position works as part of a team in the fabrication, assembling, shipping, and/or packaging of wheelchairs. In addition to meeting daily demand requirements, this position is responsible for one’s own quality of products and maintaining accurate and legible records. Following company safety requirements and quality system standards is required. Flexibility of daily job demand tasks and keeping the work area clean and orderly is required.

Essential Functions

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble, ship, and/or package product to daily demand requirements.
  • Must be quality conscious and take responsibility for own quality of product.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records.
  • Ensures and follows safety requirements and standards.
  • Ability to keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Perform in-process inspections of products.
  • Performs all duties in a manner that follows, demonstrates, and promotes Ki Mobility’s company values. 
  • Report to work as scheduled, on time, and able to work entire work schedule.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Skill and ability to pay attention to detail with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to use mechanical tools such as power hand tools and wrenches.
  • Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly adaptable and responsive to changing business needs.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledge of quality processes including measurements, documentation, and final inspection. 
  • Able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to observe and identify details.
  • Ability to work extended hours as scheduled, including weekends.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift and handle wheelchairs and related accessories. 
  • Continuous wrist manipulation, walking, and standing.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
  • Production/Assembly: 
    • Frequent light work with lifting up to 10 pounds.
    • Occasional medium work with lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Shipping/Boxing: 
    • Continuous medium work with lifting up to 40 pounds. 
    • Occasional heavy work with lifting up to 65 pounds. 
  • Manual dexterity to position product and to use basic tools for assembly and measuring.
  • Must be able to complete all physical requirements to perform essential functions.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Required:
    • Experience and proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Preferred: 
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment. 
    • Experience working with hand tools and measuring tools. 
    • Experience with fabrication, assembly, shipping, and packaging of products.
    • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions.  

Working Environment

  • Standard working conditions include a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Paint Prep Dept: Exposure to heat ranging from above ambient to extreme temperatures.
