Job Description

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Material Handler II - Fabrication at at 700 Trade Center Ave El Paso, TX. The rate for this position is $17.88 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:45pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

What you’ll do:

The Material Handler will provide support in all areas of the Switchboard Team including, but not limited to, Fabrication demand loading, inventory counts, order picking, and shipping and receiving parts, with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards.

  • Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position.
  • Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton's quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed. * Create/Update MO Manufacturing Orders for fabrication item numbers and act on exception messages as instructed.
  • Load fabrication production plan into machine software and act on exception messages as instructed.
  • Locate fabricated material into rack / cart / GO locations.
  • Perform inventory counts of fabricated material and inventory transactions.
  • Receive and process material kitting orders in a timely manner to execute production schedules.
  • Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.
  • As needed, receive, and process incoming raw material and ensure inventory process is followed correctly.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • A minimum of 6 months of warehouse, distribution, or military experience.

  • A minimum of 6 months of forklift experience (Sit-down or Standup).
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of warehouse experience in an industrial environment.
  • Three or more years of forklift operation experience.

Position Criteria:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
  • Knowledge of AS400, VISTA and MAPICS systems
  • Knowledge of Lean and continuous process improvements
  • Ability to lift. push and pull up to twenty-five pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to squat and reach above the head with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to physically operate a forklift with or without reasonable accommodation.
