Job Description

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, is seeking a postdoctoral associate to work at the Magee-Womens Research Institute in Dr. Christina Megli's lab. The Candidate will perform studies on placental tissues and cells in vitro, working and developing novel models of the maternal-fetal interface and dissecting out cell-contact dependent and independent regulatory responses. Techniques include cell culture, tissue dissection, bacterial infections, ELISA, transciptomics, confocal and fluorescence microscopy. The laboratory is very collaborative. The candidate will lead their own independent research projects and will be supported in their work by other lab trainees and staff. Similarly, they will be expected to support the work of other lab members. They will also be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the lab by helping to train new lab members. Finally, they will be expected to apply for grant funding, if eligible.
