We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Medical Assistant in our Psychiatry Department. In this role, you'll play a vital part in working closely with medical and behavioral health providers to establish rapport with patients through connection and provision of optimal patient care in a care team environment, helping us move forward with purpose and precision. Essential Job Duties: 

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Third Street Family Health Services.
  • Responds to patient/client requests as appropriate.
  • Competently utilizes the electronic health record.
  • Correctly routes patient and client communication through appropriate channels as per organizational policy.
  • Obtains vital signs and specimens for testing as per organizational policy protocol and professional training and provider direction.
  • Assesses patient's physical and cognitive capabilities, providing assistance as indicated.
  • Assists providers within office procedures which may include women's health exams, suturing, lesion removals with biopsy, use of sterile field, cryotherapy, chemical cautery, and others.

Requirements

Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, preferred.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Required (within the first 90 days)

Third Street Community Clinic Inc

Originally known as Third Street Community Clinic, Third Street Family Health Services was founded in 1994. We are a private, non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We receive federal grants from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) through Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. We currently provide Primary Care, Dental, OB/GYN, Pediatric, Substance Use Treatment, Behavioral Health Services, and Outreach Community Health Resources across our locations. The Board of Trustees is the governing body and comprises residents from Ashland, Crawford, and Richland County who have a diverse background and a shared interest in assisting people in need of affordable health care. Our Board are patients of Third Street and serve on the Board as volunteers The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) implements policies formulated and approved by the Board and is responsible to the Board. The CEO is responsible for overall supervision of staff and program development as well as service coordination. Directors/supervisors are responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for operation of their respective areas. Each staff member is responsible to his/her direct supervisor. Third Street Family Health Services believes that the health status of the underserved population can be improved by providing accessible, affordable health care for those in need.
