Description

Position Function: 

Under the general direction of the Director of Programs and Initiatives, the Residential Programs Intake Specialist is responsible for screening and assessing all client referrals for appropriateness into each program. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date tracking of justified denials and matches to programs.

Requirements:

Education: bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or a related field required.  A master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year of documented full-time work experience in residential care, a child placing agency, or related work in a clinical setting. 

Key Expectations/Responsibilities

  • Learn, understand, and support the agency’s mission, purpose, and function.
  • Must have excellent verbal and communication skills and the ability to review documents with a clinical lens.
  • Screen all referrals based on current openings, admission criteria, and identify T3C packages.
  • Collaborate with the referring professionals on receiving all necessary information to determine appropriateness for placement.
  • Enter and track all referrals in the designated data system.
  • Review weekly, monthly, and quarterly referral data to inform leadership of any training or programmatic needs.
  • Create a tracker system to communicate spikes and trends relating to referrals and census within the programs.
  • Ensure we are meeting appropriate length of stay and assessing for the next appropriate placement in the continuum of care at ACH.
  • Responsible for monitoring length of stay to ensure the program needs are met and communicating with OCOK.
  • Understand and respect the cultural, environmental, and individual needs of each child.
  • Make placement decisions that reflect cultural competence and inclusiveness.

Working Conditions: 

Residential Programs operate 24/7; this role will involve after-hour support for emergency referral reviews. The position requires schedule flexibility and resilience to effectively manage the pace of the work and the emotional complexity of client histories.

Exposure to Confidential Information: 

This position has access to sensitive personnel and client information and must maintain confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and legal requirements.
