Job Description

Description

The Parts Counter Person is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers in selecting and purchasing automotive parts. This role involves interacting with both retail and wholesale customers, answering inquiries, processing orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally.
  • Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct parts.
  • Provide accurate information on part availability, pricing, and compatibility.
  • Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and courteous manner.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Stock shelves and organize the parts department.
  • Identify and report low stock levels to the parts manager.
  • Receive and verify incoming shipments.

Order Processing

  • Process customer orders, including special orders and backorders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to expedite delivery of parts.
  • Track and follow up on backorders.

Administrative Tasks

  • Answer phone calls and provide information to customers.
  • Prepare reports and other documentation as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in automotive parts or retail sales preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and kneel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
