Job Description

Description

Job Summary:

The QC Technician maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.

Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Perform equipment verification and monitoring challenges (scale calibration, metal detector challenge, checkweigher challenge)
  • Perform pre-operation and line clearance inspections
  • Perform ATP sampling
  • Independently perform and document all in-process food safety and quality inspections (BOM, lot code, net weight, label review, sensory, package construction and closure)
  • Independently perform blow molding and winding inspection (Bartlett only)
  • Responsible for investigation and following hold procedures for out of specification components and finished goods
  • Trained in GMP and GDP - Performs GMP-related auditing of production
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; cooperation and teamwork as well as complying with legal regulations.
  • Work overtime hours as required by business needs.
  • Attends selected meetings and trainings as required. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Computer literacy with tablets (such as iPads or other touch screen technology)
  • General math skills
  • Ability to read and write English

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-6 months related food quality experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Working Conditions:

  • Office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees
  • This position may require the employee to work weekends or shifts other than their own to meet the needs of the business.

Physical Requirements:

  • Operate standard office equipment
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Lift up to 35 pounds
