Pay range: $22-$29 per hour

Healing Haven is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to perform support activities for Occupational Therapists in a pediatric clinical setting. We are a state of the art behavioral health clinic for children with autism and their families. We believe in treating the family as a whole, and as such siblings and parents are often incorporated into our therapy. Our unique services include a 3-month parent training program, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and day-time center based ABA therapy services for children between the ages of 2 to young adults. We strive to provide compassionate and creative care to meet the needs of our families.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Implements and executes an individualized client treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Addresses client needs relative to daily living, motor and play skills, sensory integration, and more to promote independence
  • Communicates with clients, families, referring physicians, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and other members of the team.
  • Provides timely documentation per company and department requirements.
  • Provides timely written documentation as required by insurance provider to meet licensing, certification, regulatory, and reimbursement requirements.
  • Attends weekly ancillary service meetings with other professional
  • Reports any changes in client status or treatment needs to Supervising Occupational Therapist when appropriate.
  • Meets or exceeds the productivity standards as established by Company.
  • Uses professional judgment to ensure safety of self, clients, and other professionals
  • Maintains quality client care through interdisciplinary communication.
  • Effectively communicates with Supervising Occupational Therapists concerning clients’ response to treatment plan
  • Attends in-services, training sessions or other meetings relevant to efficient and effective treatment services
  • Coordinates treatment goals with other team members.
  • Maintains valid licensure, certification or equivalent as requested by appropriate state agency.

Requirements:

  • Active Licensure and certification as required by the state of Michigan
  • Experience with pediatric population in an OT setting
  • Knowledge of deficits associated with autism spectrum disorder
  • Ability to lift 30+ pounds
  • Knowledge of sensory needs and integration into occupational therapy
  • Evening and weekend availability
  • Proficiency with EMR system
  • Knowledge of insurance requirements for Occupational Therapy services
  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, push, pull, and more physical activity as needed to provide quality client care

We specialize in autism, though we are skilled at treating all children that have behavioral issues or challenges in the area of socialization, language and play. Our one-of-a-kind therapy campus in Madison Heights, MI serves individuals from 2 years up to young adult across 4 large clinics, providing ABA, Speech & Occupational Therapies. Our clinic in Farmington Hills services children up to age 8 with ABA, Speech and Occupational Therapies. And our expansive Clinton Township serves children up to age 12. We are “out of the box” thinkers when it comes to our treatment approach. We believe in listening to each family’s unique set of needs, and creating a plan that treats everyone in the family, all while meeting each person where they are at in their journey. In addition to therapies, Healing Haven also provides developmental testing, assessments and autism evaluations for families seeking answers about their child's development. We also offer stress management and counseling services for families that have children with special needs.
