Job Description

Summary

Responsible for supporting extrusion and production operations by operating equipment, programming the electric eye system, and ensuring materials are properly prepared and loaded to meet customer specifications. This role requires reading and interpreting construction and customer requirement sheets, assisting with machine setups, and performing quality checks, including identifying and labeling defects. The position collaborates with team members on material handling tasks such as tying down and wrapping product, while maintaining proper inventory levels and performing basic maintenance as needed. A strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and immediate reporting of quality issues is essential, along with the flexibility to support additional operational duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet fully in order to meet the customer requirements.
  • Responsible for programming electric eye system.
  • Responsible for retrieving and loading pellets in extruder hopper.
  • Assist co-workers in machine setups.
  • Assisting co-workers in tying down material and wrapping material.
  • Participate in reporting any quality problems to supervisor immediately.
  • Label any problem areas in the liner.
  • Apply white tape to liner.
  • Perform maintenance duties as needed.
  • Continually review supplies and report to your supervisor any shortages.
  • Ensure drive roller is down prior to a run.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times by following the company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
  • Will at times be asked to perform other duties.

Education & Experience

  • GED/High School Diploma.
  • Satisfactorily complete 3 months on-the-job training.

Typical Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
  • Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs. on a continuous basis.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Able to wear required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working as required by the job.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but could include shift work, weekends, evenings and/or holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
