CPCD

Founded in 1987, CPCD was spun-off from Catholic Charities to manage the Head Start program in El Paso County. CPCD was funded to serve nearly 300 four-year-old children in one program. We now reach more than 1,800 children and their families -- in three core programs. The Head Start and Colorado Preschool Programs serve preschool-aged children and their families, and the Early Head Start program serves pregnant women, infants, and toddlers. We also have a community-funded preschool classroom spun out of the Fill A Seat Project that helped raise money to put 16 kids back in the classroom after sequestration took away 142 preschool slots in 2013. Today, we have approximately 350 employees and operate nearly 70 classrooms in El Paso County. Our mission is to prepare children for success in school and in life by providing excellent comprehensive early childhood services in partnership with diverse families and the community.
