Job Description

 

SUMMARY

Accountable for ensuring high standards of cleanliness of all Hotel & Lodge rooms, hallways, Pool, Spa, stairwells, linen rooms & elevator to prepare for next day guest service.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for the efficient and effective cleaning of all areas with higher standards of knowledge.
  2. Mopping, vacuuming, and dusting all surfaces of the hotel, lodge, spa and pool areas and entrances.
  3. Cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking all guestrooms, carts and closets. 
  4. Responsible for removing all trash and debris from rooms floors, and trash cans. 
  5. Attend to guest as needed for any housekeeping needs.
  6. Complete each room checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Ensure the safety and security of guest and employees.  
  8. All other duties as assigned. 

EXPECTATIONS AND DEADLINES (as applicable)

  1. You will be expected to clean between 12 – 18+ rooms in a shift, depending on occupancy.

REPORTING LINE

You will report directly to the Housekeeping Coordinator then to the Executive Housekeeper.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times. 
  • The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to perform assigned job duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment. 
  • Knowledge in the safe use of cleaning products.  
  • Ability to use house cleaning equipment. 
  • Always maintain a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming attitude at all times.  
  • Have knowledge of all special events and promotional activities.
  • Answer all calls in a prompt and friendly manner.
  • You will need to be available to work all shifts.
  • You must be at least 17 years old to work in the hotel.
  • You also must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a WV Racing License. 

EDUCATIONAL 

High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

You will need to be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. The ability to push, pull, kneel, twist, carry and lift up to 30 lbs.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Will be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment and seasonal elements. 

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED

You will be in direct contact with various cleaning chemicals. You will be operating a vacuum. You will also be pushing a cart that has all your supplies needed to clean the hotel rooms.
