This is not just a desk-based sales role. As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be responsible for building relationships, generating opportunities, and growing our presence in the Tampa market. While outbound calling is still part of the role, a significant portion of your success will come from networking, referrals, and being active in the local business community.

You’ll be expected to represent Brabo externally—participating in groups like Chambers of Commerce, BNI chapters, and other professional organizations, while building connections with business owners, CPAs, and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Conduct outbound calls and outreach to introduce Brabo Payroll services
  • Actively participate in networking groups such as Chambers of Commerce, BNI, and industry associations
  • Attend local Tampa-area events, meetings, and community functions to build relationships and generate referrals
  • Develop relationships with CPAs, referral partners, and business owners
  • Conduct meetings via Zoom and in person with prospects and partners
  • Clearly communicate our value and identify client needs
  • Maintain accurate records and activity in Salesforce
  • Research potential clients and partners using LinkedIn and other tools
  • Attend team meetings, trainings, and ongoing development sessions
  • Support the onboarding process for new clients as needed

Requirements

  • Comfortable with both outbound outreach and in-person networking
  • Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with business owners and decision-makers
  • Ability to build relationships and generate opportunities through referrals and partnerships
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage follow-up and pipeline activity
  • Proficient with computers, smartphones, and CRM tools (Salesforce experience is a plus)

The company was built with the industry misses in mind offering a suite of services not currently offered in the small business market by the big two. We offer weekly payment options for workers comp and employee benefit plans, including employee and employer parts of the premium. We are also able to manage eligiblity and terminations on the benefits plan because we are seeing when the employee is either hired or terminated on the payroll and can pass that information to the benefits providers.
