Job Description

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the RN Supervisor, providing integrated behavioral and physical healthcare, including managing medication, assessing and coordinating physical/medical care, and providing direct services within the Crisis Care Center. Responsible for the orderly administration and maintenance of medication both within Crisis Services and the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Duties include a variety of supportive services and direct interventions with consumers experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders and Developmental Disabilities who are in crisis, needing stabilization. May render general nursing care and provide medical support in accordance with approved nursing practices. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to: providing information and assistance specific to the area of assignment, performing admissions screening on new consumers, serving as agency liaison, performing crisis intervention activities, providing case management, providing patient education, and supporting all programs within the Crisis Care Center. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements: Possession of an associate’s degree or a diploma in Nursing required. One year of professional experience with the assigned population. One year of work experience serving adults with co-occurring disorders and serious mental illness. Possession of a State of Michigan Licensure as a Registered Nurse required. Possession of “Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers” Certification required. Must pass/must be able to perform Handle with Care Behavior Management techniques according to approved Agency standards. Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license. Access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use required. 

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $63,420.02 - $71,986.64 (shift differentials or per diem); 7am-7:30pm
