Lead Infant Teacher – Founding Teaching Team
Location: The Learning Experience – Gaithersburg, MD
Pay: $17–$20 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

The Learning Experience – Gaithersburg is seeking a caring and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our opening team. This role supports children during their earliest stages of development by creating a calm, responsive classroom environment that encourages bonding, sensory exploration, and early communication.

As part of a new center opening, this position offers the opportunity to help shape classroom culture and establish strong routines from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead daily routines for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months 
  •  Provide attentive care including feeding, diapering, and nap supervision 
  •  Create a nurturing environment that supports early development and security 
  •  Plan and implement age-appropriate sensory learning activities 
  •  Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment 
  •  Communicate regularly with families about routines and developmental progress 
  •  Support assistant teachers and help establish consistent classroom structure 
  •  Ensure compliance with Maryland licensing requirements and center policies 
Qualifications

  •  Infant/Toddler qualified under Maryland childcare regulations preferred 
  •  High school diploma required (ECE coursework or CDA a plus) 
  •  Prior infant classroom experience strongly preferred 
  •  Strong understanding of responsive caregiving and infant development 
  •  Reliable, collaborative, and nurturing teaching approach
