Qualifications

Job Description

Hourly Pay Range:

$37.47 - $58.08 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Day shift
  • May need to float to other sites as needed

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program with thorough knowledge of radioisotopes.
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients who may be anxious or confused, as well as with physicians and hospital staff.
  • Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license.
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics and/or experience using them effectively.
  • Current CPR certification.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures assigned by the supervisor and operate nuclear medicine units.
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and provide necessary instructions.
  • Assist patients from wheelchairs and stretchers onto and off the imaging table, positioning them for examinations and applying immobilization devices or compression bands as needed.
  • Monitor patients' conditions frequently while in the Nuclear Medicine area and report any critical changes to the Radiologist.
  • Administer the appropriate radioisotope with the correct dosage following department policy and procedure. Accurately document dosages on dose sheets in compliance with IEMA regulations.
