Description of Duties

Title: Technical Designer - Intern

Classification: Nonexempt

Salary*: $18.50/hr

Schedule: Onsite

Location: Van Nuys, CA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learning to fill in and track samples in Airtable
  • Checking in samples and and organizing them daily
  • Sending and tracking samples to vendors
  • Measuring and reviewing sample construction prior to fittings and helping prep for fittings
  • Working with Tech Design team members to organize and send fit lists and fit notes to cross functional teams
  • Attend fittings, when possible, to learn the brand's aesthetics and take fit notes when needed
  • Working with VP of TD on measuring and packing manuals
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask
  • General knowledge of garment construction and the ability to measure garments
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Word, Excel, 2D and 3D pattern experience preferred but not required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to be in office a minimum of 4 days a week; full schedule to be determined with supervisors.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation
  • Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching and working on a computer
  • Able to lift/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs
  • Able to walk, sit and stand for periods of time
  • Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones
  • Must be able to access various areas of a given location
