OVERVIEW

Looking to kickstart your career in accounting? At CCS, our Accounting Intern role offers hands-on experience working alongside a collaborative Finance team, where you’ll gain real exposure to the day-to-day operations that keep a business running. This isn’t a “sit back and observe” internship—you’ll contribute to meaningful projects, support key accounting processes, and build practical skills that translate directly into a full-time career.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support month-end close by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and documentation
• Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including invoice review and data entry
• Help maintain general ledger accuracy through account reconciliations
• Contribute to audit preparation and ad hoc financial analysis
• Update and maintain financial reports, trackers, and dashboards
• Assist with billing, collections, and customer account research
• Document accounting processes and help improve standard operating procedures
• Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives using tools like Excel, Power Query, and Power Automate
• Collaborate with teams across Accounting, Finance, and Operations
• Learn and apply real-world accounting policies, controls, and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies & Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Junior or Senior preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Technical Proficiency

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables a plus)
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
• Exposure to accounting or ERP systems (NetSuite or similar is a plus, not required)

Knowledge & Experience

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Junior or Senior preferred)
• Prior internship or part-time experience in accounting or finance is a plus but not required

Education / Certification

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program (Accounting, Finance, or related discipline)

• Office environment
• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
• Standard business hours with flexibility during peak periods (e.g., month-end)
