Job Description

Kaufman Dolowich, recognized by U.S. News in their list of “Best Companies to Work For - Law Firms,” is seeking a Receptionist/Legal Assistant. Our Long Island Legal Support Department is comprised of highly skilled and motivated individuals, who are seeking a dynamic self-starter to join our growing team!

Job Duties:

  • Greet visitors, in person or on the telephone, and appropriately direct their inquiries to appropriate personnel, by maintaining departmental directories.
  • Maintains a safe and clean reception area.
  • Maintains confidential information in a professional and trustworthy manner.
  • Sorts and distributes all in-coming mail (i.e., USPS, FedEx, UPS), ensuring mail documents are loaded in the firm system and distributed to attorneys.
  • Assists with office operations by weighing outgoing mail and providing postage stamps for various staff members when needed.
  • Reserves conference rooms for upcoming meetings, maintaining a tidy space.
  • At request of attorneys and supervisor, provide follow up and interact with clients, outside counsel and others.
  • Prepares, edits and proofreads a variety of documents, e.g. correspondence, agreements and pleadings.
  • Provides legal assistance and administrative support to assigned attorneys.
  • Assists administrative staff/paralegals, as requested by Office Manager.
  • Works with document management system and other systems to perform administrative work.
  • Assists with travel arrangements for attorneys.
  • Other duties, as needed, to support office operations.

Salary Range: $47,500 - $55,000

Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and does not guarantee a specific offer. Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, as well as the candidate’s experience, skills, and job-related qualifications. Base salary represents just one component of the comprehensive Total Rewards package offered by Kaufman Dolowich, which also includes a discretionary bonus program and a robust benefits offering for full-time employees.
