Job Description
Position Summary:
The Construction Management Intern supports the planning, coordination, and execution of power and utility infrastructure projects, including overhead and underground electric distribution, transmission, substation support, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Construction Management or a related field who are interested in the electric utility and power construction industry.
Power Contracting performs work utilizing journeyman linemen, apprentices, operators, and underground crews, partnering with utility-owner customers. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to utility construction operations, including major underground installations, duct bank systems, conduit, foundations, civil and electrical scopes, and design‑build/EPC delivery models, while supporting safety-first, customer-driven project execution.

Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a Construction Management, Engineering, or related construction‑focused degree program at an accredited college or university.
Ability and willingness to work in active power and utility construction environments, including underground and EPC project sites.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to meet the physical demands and safety requirements of utility construction work.
Willingness to comply with all company, customer, and regulatory safety standards, including PPE requirements.

Demonstrated interest in the power, utilities, underground, and EPC construction industry.
Willingness to learn utility‑owner requirements, permitting processes, inspections, and right‑of‑way coordination.
Eagerness to learn from field crews, including linemen and underground crews, and apply classroom knowledge in real‑world settings.
Technical & Analytical Skills
Ability or willingness to learn how to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility work packages.
Basic understanding of construction job-site operations, sequencing, and safety controls.
Ability to support cost tracking, quantity tracking, and basic project documentation with guidance.
Organizational & Time Management Skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced, field‑driven environment.
