Job Description

The Material Coordinator Inspector performs physical tasks in connection with coordinating and inspecting the shipment of military vehicles, containers off the installation. This position may coordinate the activities of other workers or agents engaged in inspecting equipment to be shipped. Material Coordinator Inspector works under direct supervision of the Lead/Supervisor. thorough visual inspection on unit deploying rolling stock and containers to insure they are safe for loading and shipping.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Provide customer assistance in all areas related to inspection of rolling stock, and containers traveling by surface.

  • Receive and update reports and statistical data on SharePoint.
  • Assist customer in coordinating and scheduling Equipment inspection in support of Deployment..
  • Assist customer with verifying military shipping labels for deployment and Redeployment.
  • Assist customer with verifying Radio Frequency Identification tags are accurate, complete, and validated for deploying equipment.
  • Coordinate movement support requirements with all transportation nodes for Deployment and Redeployment.
  • Provide movement guidance through the mobilization and pre -deployment process from deployment home station.
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspection reports.
  • Distribute inspection reports to Movement Control Center.
  • Stay current on deployment regulations and policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • CAC required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • GSA Driver’s License.
  • High School/GED Diploma
  • One (1) year of documented experience in the Transportation and/or Logistical field.
  • Knowledge of DoD and DA Regulations as they pertain to Transportation and Deployment.
  • Experience with recognition and identifying military equipment.
  • Ability to recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customers.
  • Knowledge of policies, processes, and systems pertaining to Transportation Services and Storage of vehicles as it pertains to the DoD and/or Department of the Army (DA).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, perform with a high degree of accuracy and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
  • Perform other duties as required that will involve working overtime, weekends, flexible hours, and holidays.
  • Perform work in conditions of inclement weather, extreme heat and cold, high/low humidity, blowing sand and dust, working in confined spaces and at heights while standing for long periods of time.
  • The ability to read and write the English language sufficiently to understand written instructions.
  • Able to move throughout assigned areas, as the work is performed out-of-doors, year-round on uneven ground with prolonged walking or standing, frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching on a daily basis.
  • Ability to wear safety gear including shoes/boots during the process of performing duties.
