Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Children’s Mental Health Hospital, Wichita, KS

Salary: Starting at $15.00 per hour (increases based on education & experience)
Shift Differentials:

  • 3:00pm–11:00pm: +$1.00/hr
  • 11:00pm–7:00am: +$1.50/hr
  • Friday 7:00pm–Monday 7:00am: +$2.00/hr
    Schedule: Multiple shifts available:
  • 1st Shift: 7:00am–3:30pm
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00pm–11:30pm
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00pm–7:30am

In this vital role, you will provide care, supervision, and support to help young people achieve their treatment goals in a safe and therapeutic environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide compassionate care and supervision to children and youth in our facility
  • Support daily activities and reinforce treatment plans developed by nurses and therapists
  • Teach coping techniques and positive behavior skills
  • Document client activity and progress
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for all clients

  • Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour, with increases based on education and experience

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED from an accredited high school
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance
  • Experience: 1–3 months of related experience and/or training working with adults or children in a behavioral health care or similar environment preferred
  • Must be at least 20 years old to apply
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check required
