Job Description
SUMMARY: The AEMT/Paramedic is responsible for providing high-quality pre-hospital medical care to employees, guests, and visitors within the facility. This role serves as the primary on-site medical responder, assessing and stabilizing medical and traumatic emergencies while ensuring compliance with all safety protocols. The position requires a proactive approach to accident prevention, rapid response coordination, and effective collaboration with Aquatics Operations, Park Management, Security and external emergency services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
· Emergency Response & Assessment: Respond promptly to all calls for medical assistance throughout the property, performing rapid clinical assessments to determine the nature and severity of illness or injury.
· Clinical Patient Care: Administer basic and advanced life support care within the scope of licensure and standing medical orders, including wound management, cardiac support, and stabilization of traumatic injuries prior to the arrival of transport units.
· Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, confidential, and legally defensible medical records (Patient Care Reports) for all interactions, ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and company incident reporting standards.
· Facility & Equipment Readiness: Perform daily inspections and inventory of all medical supplies, AEDs, and emergency equipment to ensure operational readiness; restock supplies and sanitize equipment immediately following use.
· Triage & Transport Coordination: effectively triage patients during multiple-casualty incidents and coordinate the hand-off of patients to local EMS providers when higher-level care or transport is required.
· Safety & Prevention: Collaborate with the Park Management and Risk Management departments to identify potential hazards within the facility and participate in safety audits or training initiatives to reduce workplace incidents.
· Health Surveillance: Assist with routine employee health screenings, drug testing procedures (if applicable), and immediate care for workplace injuries in compliance with Worker’s Compensation guidelines.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Level 3
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Level 3
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Level 2
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Level 4
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
