Laboratory Technician

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts on either days or nights, with every other weekend off.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately weigh, process, and record batch details for manufacturing catalyst concentrate according to standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for conducting analytical tests on polymeric materials and catalysts. Including all sample preparations when necessary to ensure all raw materials and products meet stated QC specifications. Adjustment of product to meet specifications as needed.
  • Operates, maintains, and calibrates/verifies laboratory instruments and equipment used to conduct testing in the Quality Control Laboratory. Performs monthly and quarterly control tests on equipment. Ensure external calibration services are conducted on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, and perform general housekeeping duties in the laboratory.
  • Prepare chemical solutions as directed, prepare polymer samples as directed.
  • Maintains detailed, traceable electronic and written documentation for all work/testing carried out.
  • Assembles data, compiles information as necessary to assist in trouble shooting manufacturing issues or documenting process changes.
  • Perform all operations in accordance with health, safety, and environmental rules.
  • Support and adhere to the Quality Management System processes.
  • Maintain, modify, and write from scratch Standard Operating Procedures.
  • May be assigned additional duties to support overall site needs and business growth plans.

Job Qualifications:

  • Laboratory experience in a chemical or industrial plant working rotating shifts is a plus
  • May require a valid Driver’s License 
  • Must have at least a high school diploma
  • Strong mathematical skills and understanding
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
