Job Purpose

The Driver/Warehouseman is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of materials to job sites, ensuring accurate and timely distribution while adhering to safety protocols. This role also assists in the organization and maintenance of the warehouse, including inventory management, receiving shipments, and supporting field electricians by preparing and prioritizing materials. Additional duties include facility upkeep, routine vehicle and equipment inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Driver/Warehouseman is committed to cost-effective operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and upholding the company's core values in all tasks and interactions.

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles for the prompt and accurate transportation of materials to designated jobsites.
  • Collaborate closely with Field Electricians to understand delivery requirements and schedules.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of routes, traffic patterns, and delivery destinations.
  • Implement and adhere to safety protocols during all aspects of delivery.
  • Assist Warehouse Manager in the organization and maintenance of the warehouse space.
  • Keep accurate inventory records and update systems regularly.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, documenting any discrepancies.
  • Safely store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Collaborate with purchasing department to manage inventory levels effectively.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in routine maintenance tasks to ensure the facility's optimal functionality.
  • Manage the organization and cleanliness of the facility in accordance with safety standards.
  • Assist Field Electricians by organizing and preparing materials for jobsites.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to prioritize and fulfill material requests.
  • Provide timely and efficient support to ensure seamless field operations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines during warehouse, delivery, and facility maintenance activities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Maintain open and clear communication with the warehouse team members, Field Electricians, and other stakeholders.
  • Report any delivery delays, issues, or discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize delivery routes, schedules, and facility maintenance plans.
  • Optimize delivery routes to minimize fuel and time costs.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Perform any other job-related duties or function as assigned by management.
  • Accountable for leading efforts in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and methodologies to improve processes and increase efficiency.
  • Participate in CECI Continuous Improvement events as needed (ex: JDI, RIE & A3's)
  • Maintain SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) for compliance practices and other associated functions.
