JOB SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers care under the direction of a Physical Therapist, following established treatment plans using evidence-based strategies. The PTA collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care, optimal outcomes, and patient satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver high-quality physical therapy care to optimize clinical outcomes
Prioritize patient care and manage assigned caseload efficiently
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
Administer and advance treatment programs according to goals defined by the Physical Therapist and patient tolerance, consistent with physician orders
Educate patients on exercises, treatment protocols, and injury prevention
Document patient condition, treatments, and progress accurately and timely
Provide ongoing updates to the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and status
Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed
Administer various physical therapy modalities and interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Current state license as a Registered Physical Therapist Assistant
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience in outpatient orthopedics preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of injury treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift equipment necessary for patient care
