Job Summary and Objectives

The Pool Café Team Member is a cross-trained position responsible for performing both cooking and serving duties, depending on shift assignment. This role supports the daily operation of the pool café by preparing food, serving members, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

When assigned to cooking duties, the Team Member prepares food according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality, freshness, and food safety compliance.
 

When assigned to service duties, the Team Member provides prompt, friendly, and efficient food and beverage service to members and guests, contributing to an exceptional poolside experience.

All team members are expected to uphold high standards of service, cleanliness, and professionalism while adhering to all Minnesota health and safety regulations.

Essential Job Functions

General Responsibilities (All Shifts):

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
  • Adhere to all Minnesota health and safety codes
  • Deliver a high level of member service and satisfaction
  • Demonstrate  a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Cook Responsibilities (When Assigned):

  • Prepare and/or direct the preparation of food according to recipes and standards
  • Follow portion controls and presentation specifications
  • Ensure freshness and quality of all food and ingredients
  • Properly store food, including labeling and dating items
  • Complete required temperature checks prior to service
  • Re-stock food items and ensure adequate supply levels
  • Utilize supplies and equipment properly to minimize waste and loss
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, work areas, and equipment
  • Report equipment issues and maintenance needs promptly

Server Responsibilities (When Assigned):

  • Provide prompt, courteous, and attentive food and beverage service to members and      guests
  • Take and deliver orders accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure a positive and engaging poolside experience
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas
  • Monitor guest needs and respond proactively
  • Support overall café operations, including restocking and cleaning
  • Uphold appearance and service standards at all times

Additional Expectations

  • Must be able to perform both cook and server duties as scheduled
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to daily role assignments
  • Must work collaboratively with all team members to support operations

Requirements

Physical Demands:

· Walking and/or standing for extended periods of time.

· Lift and carry racks or stacks of dishes, glassware, and other utensils weighing up to 30 lbs. 

· Substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.

· Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and climbing stairs and step stool,

· Frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood, and produce items.

· Frequent washing of hands.

Work Environment:

· Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from knives, broken glass and metal cans, burns, slipping and tripping.

· Cleaning chemical exposure.

· Exposure to heat, cold, and humidity.

· Elevated noise levels.

Compensation & Benefits:

· Base hourly earnings of $18-$22 per hour DOE

· Uniform provided.

· Employee meals provided.

· Use of Woodhill’s exceptional facilities (golf course, pool, tennis courts) on Mondays
