Pay Rate:

Starting rate of $21.24 per hour

Category/Shift:

Hourly Part-Time/Full-Time

About The Role:

  • Global Cellulose Fibers, a major pulp and paper producer, is seeking its next generation of Instrumentation and Electrical Technicians. Our Flint River Mill is looking to bring on hourly maintenance E&I part/full-time interns to assist IE’s in routine maintenance work including but not limited to electrical circuit troubleshooting & repair, conduit & wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting & repair, drive troubleshooting & repair, Instrumentation & control valve calibration, troubleshooting & repair, and HVAC work.

Quality Expectations

  • Ensure an understanding of quality policy and support efforts for a positive customer experience.
  • Aid in the execution of mill-wide quality efforts as needed to help maintain mill quality standards.

About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be currently 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible for employment in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience 
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to function in a team environment.
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Currently enrolled in vocational/technical education in the Instrumentation/Electrical Disciplines: Instrumentation, Electrical or HVAC with an expected education completion date of December 2026 (or prior).
    • Recently completed vocational/technical education in the Instrumentation/Electrical Disciplines: Instrumentation, Electrical or HVAC.

Must be willing to meet the following requirements:

  • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
  • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment.
  • Work any shift that aligns with class schedule
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last-minute notification
  • Work holidays and/or weekends if scheduled.
  • Wear required safety equipment 
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)
