Our team has an immediate need for a Design Technician. In this role you will be responsible for creating technical drawings used in the construction of products and materials while their drawing is carried out with specific CAD software.

What you will do:

  • Prepare engineering drawings and plan sets as directed using CAD software.
  • Ensure compliance of quality standards in CAD drawings.
  • Redesign drawings according to markups and specifications.
  • Translate and convert hand drawings, sketches, and GIS Data into CAD systems.
  • Read, evaluate and interpret designs and drawings.
  • Document and update all drawings.
  • Support compliance procedures of drafting and engineering standards.

You are a proficient communicator employing both verbal and written forms to assure understanding and quality completion of tasks. You demonstrate flexibility by the ability to quickly shift between tasks as needed.

What you bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience using computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail with commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and apply criteria to technical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of design and mechanical processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to create and read technical drawings.
  • Essential to be able to work in a team as you’ll be liaising with Engineers, Project Coordinators, and other Design Technicians.
  • A flexible approach to decision making, to make changes to drawings at short notice.
  • Spatial and design skills to be able to visualize projects in 2D and 3D.
  • Office software including MS Office and Adobe Professional (or BlueBeam) required.
