Position Title: Estimator

Department: Sales Support

Position Type: Regular full-time

General Summary

Responsible for performing takeoffs of various materials & assisting sales support team with bidding residential & commercial jobs.

Essential Job Functions

• Import blueprints into estimating software to prepare takeoffs.
• Responsible for reviewing bid documents, examining plans and specifications.
• Responsible assisting sales staff with preparing bids while quantifying and qualifying all material quantities.
• Responsible for creating takeoffs plans by using estimating software. Must be familiar with reading and understanding blueprints. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Some knowledge of flooring and tiling industry: carpet, hardwood, resilient and ceramic tile.
• General PC knowledge, Microsoft Excel a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure, work with deadlines, and within a team environment to best achieve excellent and timely results
• Intermediate math skills.
• Detail- Oriented, ability to work independently.

Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prefer Experience in estimating or familiarity of estimating software.
3. Prefer experience in the construction or building materials supply industry.

Other Requirements

1. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. 
2. Fundamental mathematic comprehension required.
3. Ability to multi-task is required.
4. Travel required: none
