Description

As a Life Enrichment Specialist, you will be an integral part of our caring and compassionate team, focused on enriching the lives of residents facing memory challenges, such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Your role will involve assisting the Director of Life Enrichment and Memory Support by collaborating with other team members to plan and execute engaging activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and emotional well-being. By providing meaningful experiences, you will contribute to creating a supportive and nurturing environment that enhances the quality of life for our residents. 

Description:

  • Under the direction of the Director of Life Enrichment and Memory Support, implement and execute activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for residents with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia. 
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment, helping residents feel comfortable and secure during activities, minimizing any feelings of anxiety or confusion. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident participation in activities and any behavioral changes or responses observed during the activities. 
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding when engaging with residents, being patient and adaptable to cater to their varying abilities and moods. 
  • Effectively communicate with residents, families, and team members regarding activity schedules, updates, and resident feedback.
  • Organize and maintain an inventory of activity equipment and supplies. 
  • Participate in training programs and ongoing education to stay current on best practices and trends in memory support. 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • Previous experience in senior care, education, child development, activities coordination, restorative therapy, or degree in related field is preferred.
