Polytek® Development Corp. is a leading manufacturer of mold making and casting materials. Polytek® is currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and extremely organized individual to join our rapidly expanding company.

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for leading, developing and executing strategic sourcing activities, including supplier selection, cost analysis, RFQ management, negotiation, and resolving issues with the suppliers. This role focuses on optimizing total cost, improving supplier performance, and ensuring supply continuity through data-driven sourcing decisions and strong supplier relationships.

Essential Job Functions:

Major tasks and other key responsibilities include:

• Develop and support strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned categories, including raw materials, indirect spend, and services. 
• Conduct market analysis and supplier research to identify qualified and competitive sourcing options. 
• Manage and execute RFQ/RFP processes, including specification alignment, bid collection and analysis, and structured supplier comparison. 
• Support and participate in supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings, improved terms, and long-term value. 
• Lead or support supplier qualification and onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with company requirements. 
• Identify cost reduction and value improvement opportunities through sourcing initiatives and supplier consolidation. 
• Monitor supply market trends, pricing dynamics, and material availability to support proactive sourcing decisions. 
• Support resolution of supplier performance issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders, focusing on root cause analysis and corrective action. 
• Stay current with procurement and supply chain best practices through ongoing learning and professional development. 
• Uphold company policies and promote a positive, collaborative working environment. 
• Perform other strategic sourcing-related duties as assigned.

• Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer.
• Must be able to work in an office environment. 
• Must be able to talk, hear and see with vision abilities including close/near, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering manufacturing areas.  
• Travel may include up to 10%.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or procurement (direct or indirect spend) 
• Hands-on involvement in RFQ/RFP processes, including supplier outreach, quote comparison and final supplier selection and communication
• Supplier Management: 
• Basic experience managing or interacting with suppliers, including follow-ups, issue resolution, and relationship coordination 
• Sourcing & Analytical Skills: 
• Ability to analyze supplier quotations and support cost comparisons 
• Working knowledge of total cost considerations (price, lead time, quality, logistics) 
• Project Support: 
• Experience supporting or driving sourcing projects or purchase initiatives on 
• Communication Skills: 
• Must be able to understand, speak, write and read English. 
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers 
• Comfortable handling supplier inquiries, delays, and escalations 
• Technical Skills: 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, comparison tables, data organization) 
• Experience with ERP systems 
• Preferred experience in applying Strategic Sourcing 7 Steps
• Organizational Skills: 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload
