Job Description

Location: City of Industry, CA (Manufacturing Plant)
Duration: 10-12 weeks (Summer 2025)
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
Eligibility: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a four-year university, technical school, or community college with a degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance, or a related field.

This program provides students and recent graduates with the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals, tackling real-world technical challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Interns will gain valuable experience in machine maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and process improvement, helping to support CEMCO’s operations.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with design and development of manufacturing equipment, including support for new accessory machines.
  • Create and update part drawings, layouts, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of an accumulator system and other process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Machine Shop and Maintenance teams on equipment setup and troubleshooting.
  • Observe and analyze current processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and automation.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Engineering and Machine Shop teams.
  • Prepare weekly progress updates, culminating in a final presentation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a hands-on environment.

Recruitment Timeline

Recruitment for the 2026 Summer Internship Program will begin in late April. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
