Position Details:

The Opportunity:

As a Research Intern, you will support the mission of the College of Veterinary Medicine by identifying and defining research problems, design hypotheses and methodology to be used in the experiment, design specific phases of research projects, analyze research results, develop conclusions and hypothesis, and present research results in publishable form both in writing and in scientific meetings. Primary focus of research for your role will be in the area of addiction on drugs of abuse and the impact on society. You will be driving an addiction research agenda, as well as assisting with other projects in the laboratory as needed. Additionally, you will be assisting day-to-day research functions as well as leading students.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.

Temporary End Date:

This is a temporary position expected to end on December 31, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.

Monthly Salary:

$3,379.14 - $4,862.67 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent related field experience performing work with research, scientific or clinical research protocols. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Must be able to work occasionally on weekends, evenings, or holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working with rodent colonies and vapor chambers.
