Position Summary:

As part of the Family Case Management program, this internship is designed to expose bachelor's level students to direct practice in the field of child welfare while completing a required Bachelors in Social Work undergraduate program. Under direction of a Child Welfare Case Manager and/or Family Support Supervisor, this position will perform child welfare tasks.

Position Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a certified Bachelors of Social Work degree program.
  • Maintain good standing and complete all related undergraduate program work and responsibilities at the sponsoring university.
  • Willingness to engage families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, personal liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the CHW auto insurance carrier.
  • Knowledge of child development stages.
  • Knowledge of the issues confronted by the families within the child welfare system service site.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups in a culturally competent manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize information in a systematic method by utilizing management information systems and skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
