You, our Ideal Candidate
The Events & Programs Specialist must be creative and have excellent listening skills. The Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating events and programming for residents and family members. This position creates an environment of wellness and engagement throughout the organization. The Events & Programs Specialist collaborates with other departments as well as the community at large to provide programming.
Responsibilities
- Engages residents in planning creative community events and programs of interest to residents and families
- Coordinates equipment, materials and volunteers to ensure event success
- Prepares activity assessments and MDS for each resident, if required by regulations
- Coordinates volunteers for events. Lead volunteers during events.
- Completes participation records and quarterly progress notes.
- Available to occasionally work evening, weekend and/ or holidays as events dictate
Requirements
- Must be able to communicate in the English language
- High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prior experience in social or recreational programming in a senior living setting preferred.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain, within designated timeframe, certification of Therapeutic Recreational Specialist, if working in long term care.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of USI software preferred
- Demonstrated creativity
