Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. This hands-on opportunity is ideal for a student currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Marine Manufacturing Engineering who is eager to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world production environment. The intern will support continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Support the development and documentation of standard work instructions and process flows
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for production issues
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on ongoing projects and initiatives
  • Conduct time studies and help identify opportunities for cost reduction and waste elimination
  • Assist with tooling, fixture design, and process validation efforts
  • Collect, analyze, and present data to support engineering decisions
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment in accordance with company standards

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Marine Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with CAD software is a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Hands-on mindset with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Exposure to marine, composites, or assembly-based manufacturing processes
