Haigh-Farr is a premier antenna design, manufacturing and test house developing products used across all platforms in the aerospace industry including missions to Mars, the International Space Station and products fielded to the U.S. Military supporting the warfighter. Haigh-Farr is seeking an Entry Level Machinist to join our team. We are in need of a highly motivated individual looking to build or grow a career in the machining trade. This would involve on the job training, all while being an essential part of a growing team. No prior experience is required- just a strong work ethic, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside senior machinists to gain hands-on experience.
  • Practice machine shop safety
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist in operation of CNC milling machines and manual lathes.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy.
  • Read basis blueprints and drawings.
  • Perform basic machine and tool setups.
  • Assist with general shop duties as needed.  

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of basic hand tools
  • Strong hand eye coordination and manual dexterity. 
  • Ability to switch tasks on the fly as production needs require. 
  • Strong commitment to achieving quality work. 
  • Team player who will pitch in where needed to get the job done. 
  • Meticulous record keeping with good computer skills. 
  • Must be organized and maintain a clean working environment. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED, however, we will consider students enrolled in Senior Year of Trade School as part of Co-Op agreement.
  • Higher education a plus
  • Strong math and mechanical aptitude.
  • U.S. citizenship required, with ability to possess a security clearance
