The laboratory of Dr. Yanzhong Yang in the Department of Cancer Genetics and Epigenetics at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope Cancer Center is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow.

As a successful candidate you will:

  • Study transcriptional regulation and RNA metabolism in normal development and human diseases, such as neurological disorder, immunology, and cancer.

  • Utilize biochemistry, molecular biology, CRISPR-based genomic screen, single-cell transcriptomics, and genetically modified mouse models to investigate the role of protein arginine methylation in the regulation of chromatin biology, RNA splicing, and RNA modification in mammalian cells.



Your qualifications should include:

  • A PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or related area.

  • Strong interest in basic and translational research.

  • Strong work ethic, meticulous and detail-oriented record keeping habits.

  • Evidence of productivity reflected in first author publications in peer-reviewed journals. 

  • Ability to conduct independent research and work effectively in a team.

  • The candidate should be self-motivated, with a proven track record of productivity.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Skills in common RNA biology, epigenetics, and mouse models.

  • Experience in neuroscience or immune oncology.
