The Grounds Operator is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the plant, including cleaning sawdust and maintaining fire safety equipment. They also assist with pellet mill operations and operate a forklift as needed to support the team.

Qualifications

You have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of in-plant manufacturing experience. You must be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, and be willing to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Blowing off the dryer rotary unions, oil skids and duct work for the lines.
  •  Forklift driver as needed for maintaining area. 
  •  Clean up sawdust utilizing brooms and shovels. 
  •  Assist with Pellet Mill Operations in the event of additional support needed.
  •  Check and dump the hoppers through the facility.
  •  Keep up with the fire boxes and extinguishers for their respective lines.
  •  Clean to ensure the plant stays operationally ready.
  •  Effectively Communicate to All Team Members and Management any Equipment Deficiencies.
  •  Meticulous Attention to Detail; Able to Follow Instruction Both Written and Verbal.
  •  Ensure Workers Adhere to Local, State and Federal Codes and Regulations.
  •  Perform Other Related Duties as Assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  •  High School Diploma or Equivalent Education.
  •  One Year of In Plant Manufacturing Experience.
  •  Must Complete Written and Field Training for Loader. 
  •  Ability to Climb Ladders, Stairs, Scaffolding and Ramps.
  •  Ability to Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, Reach, Stand, Walk, Push, Pull, Lift, Grasp, Shovel, Rake and any Necessary Requirements to Keep are Clean and Safe.
  •  Ability to Work Extended Hours to Includes Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
  •  Ability to Work Outdoors, Rotating Shifts, and Lift 50 Pounds Required.
